A seasoned educator and academic leader, Dr. Joan Scocco holds a Doctorate of Management in Community College Policy and Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a Master of Arts in Executive Communication from Seton Hall University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Pace University. Since 2004 she has played key roles at Brookdale Community College from adjunct faculty member to Interim Vice President and Acting Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Scocco’s leadership has driven strategic initiatives, enhanced academic programs, and fostered partnerships for student success. Using her proven track record in budget management and strategic planning, she has led diverse teams to achieve institutional goals. Her dedication to promoting educational equity and social justice has been recognized through multiple awards including the Barringer Award for Educational Excellence.

Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Scocco served as Vice President of Human Resources for the Global Services Division at Bankers Trust Company (Deutsche Bank). Dr. Scocco’s extensive corporate and academic background allows her to bring a unique blend of leadership, communication, and organizational expertise to her roles.
