Dr. David M. Stout has been serving as the seventh President of Brookdale Community College since May 2018. Before his presidency, Dr. Stout held numerous transformative roles at Brookdale, including Vice President for Student Success, Dean of Enrollment Development & Student Affairs, Dean of the Freehold Campus, and Professor of Psychology & Human Services.
As President, Dr. Stout has implemented strategic initiatives aimed at forecasting and influencing enrollment trends, critical facility needs, controlling expenditures, and updating the college’s major strategic plans all while building financial reserves and developing programs to meet the evolving needs of Monmouth County residents.
As Vice President for Student Success, Dr. Stout expertly managed all enrollment and student development services including admissions, advising, financial aid, testing, student life, accessibility services, psychological counseling, and career development as well the creation of support services addressing student behavioral and psychological issues, the optimization of advising and enrollment processes, and the launch of the KEYS Academy Recovery High School in collaboration with Right Your Life and the Matawan-Aberdeen School District.
Dr. Stout has been Chair of the internal governance system and President of the Brookdale Faculty Association. He has also been a dedicated member of the Monmouth County Mental Health Board and served on the Human Services Needs Assessment Steering Committee.
Dr. Stout holds a Master’s Degree in Psychological Counseling and a Ph.D. in Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine.
